who
we serve
KinCultivate believes in the power of the village. Strengthening families and community is essential to supporting Black youth. While some of our programs are designed specifically for Black youth, others are open to all, creating spaces to connect, celebrate, and grow together.
You are part of the KinCultivate village—connect, learn, and grow with us.
defining african descent
We serve youth who identify as Black, African, African American, mixed-race, biracial, or connected to the African diaspora. We honor the diverse experiences and cultural heritage within these identities, fostering a space where all feel seen, valued, and supported.
defining kin
KinCultivate redefines "kin" as a bond that goes beyond family ties, it’s about creating belonging and support for Black youth and their allies. Kin includes everyone committed to uplifting and affirming the identity, culture, and well-being of Black youth.
programs & initiatives
-
kinship and identity
Programs dedicated to creating spaces exclusively for youth of African descent in grades 6–9 to explore and develop their cultural identity. These programs foster pride, kinship, and confidence through mentorship, immersive experiences like summer camp, and long-term initiatives that empower participants to embrace their heritage.
-
youth programs
Open to all youth, these programs center Black representation and highlight the cultures and experiences of the African diaspora. With offerings for a range of ages, they create space to connect, learn, and build solidarity across diverse backgrounds.
-
family support
Workshops, resources, and community-building events designed for parents and guardians of youth of African descent. We also offer spaces for Black parents seeking healing and reconnection. These programs not only provide tools for navigating challenges but also create chances to strengthen the village by fostering connections among families.
-
community engagement
Events that celebrate culture and create spaces where Black youth feel seen, valued, and supported within the broader community. From storytelling nights to cultural exploration events, these programs aim to deepen connections and promote understanding across different groups, always keeping the needs of Black youth at the center.
